Steel carriage bolts are primarily used for fastening in timber structures and joining timber and metal components. The rounded head provides a smooth external surface without a tool recess, while the square neck beneath the head resists rotation during tightening when engaged with the surrounding material. The range mainly includes DIN 603 / ISO 8677 carriage bolts with a round head and square neck, alongside a smaller selection of DIN 608 countersunk square-neck bolts. Typical applications include timber construction, machinery, industrial assembly and other installations where head geometry and the fastening method are important. Carriage bolts are available in property classes 4.6, 8.8 and 10.9, with different dimensions, lengths and surface treatments.
